Ants are known as hard workers and they play a substantial role in our surroundings. Though there are different species of ants in the whole wide world, there is one that is interesting – the Bull Ant.
Bull Ant or bulldog ant is regarded as the largest in Australia since they generally measure around 15 to 36mm in length. They are either black or red in colour and has a distinct appearance. They have very long and straight mandibles, a stinger filled with venom and large eyes.
Among the exclusive Australian ant species, they can be found all over the states. Generally, they are found outdoors and assemble their homes underground. They also can build a nest in an emptied tree trunk or spoiled log. Their nest is sometimes hard to find as it includes a little opening that’s covered with plants or debris. They will attack any intruder that approaches their dwelling.
Known for its aggressive nature, Bull cats create an intense, venom-filled bite that causes terrible pain for the victim. They are horrendous when they sense their home is attacked or destroyed. Their bite/sting can also cause allergic reactions in people that can be life-threatening. The Bull ant uses its venom to incapacitate its prey.
